hair massage can restore the shine in your hair

Dry hair is usually the hair that lacks luster, brittle and has split ends.

Causes:

  • Over-exposure to the sun without protecting the hair
  • Excessive washing especially with harsh shampoos that remove all the oil from your scalp and hair.
  • Excessive use of styling products and hot styling methods (blow drier, heat iron).
  • Lack of proper nutrition.

Natural Remedies:

  • Include enough unsaturated fatty acids in your diet (unheated vegetables oils, such as wheat germ, flaxseed, sesame, corn, or soy oil). And also consume some seeds and nuts. They contain essential fatty acids that can bring that shine right back into your hair.
  • Apply and massage nourishing oils (like jojoba oil, virgin coconut oil, olive oil, sesame seed oil and flaxseed oil) on your hair and let it stay overnight. Do this at least 3 times a week.
  • Use mild shampoo with added ingredients like jojoba oil, avocado, olive oil and virgin coconut oil.

  • Dry hair tends to produce split ends, have them trim off about every 6 weeks or so.
  • Avoid washing the hair every night. When washing hair, only use warm, not hot water. When rinsing the hair, always use cool water. This increases circulation.
  • Do not use heat (blow dryer or iron) to fix your hair, instead use unheated plastic cylinder rollers.
  • Use a bathing cap when swimming, it will protect the hair. For additional protection, rub on a little olive oil before putting on the cap.
  • Vinegar is a good conditioner that can help clean and make you hair shiny. Just add 1 tablespoon vinegar to a cup of water, pour it to your hair, massage for 5 minutes then rinse it. This vinegar rinse will also help control damaged hair.

  • Avocado and banana. Mash a little overripe banana and avocado together, spread in your hair, and leave it there for up to an hour. Then rinse with warm water.
  • Beer. After your shampoo, rinse your hair with a little beer. This can help restore shine.
  • Mayonnaise. You'll need the full-fat kind, not a diet or low-fat version. Slather 1 tablespoon or so onto your hair, rub it in down to your scalp, then cover with a plastic cap and wait about 30 minutes. Rinse it out thoroughly.
  • Another good hair tonic is an egg. Beat 2 egg yolks until it is foamy. Then massage it to the hair and scalp. When done, rinse it off with warm water. Egg is a very nutritious dry hair remedy as it is a source of 11 essential nutrients, vitamin A and D.

Warning: Do not use a shampoo that contains sodium lauryl sulfate or NDELA (nitrosodiethanolamine). Both are harsh and dry the scalp, perhaps causing flaking.
