I love yogurt.
I love yogurt.

Consuming yogurt is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to care for your stomach naturally. According to the Dr. Anil Minocha writing in his book Natural Stomach Care he says "Composed of coutless numbers of living bio-organisms (one cup of cultured yogurt contains literally billions of helpful bacili), once ingested these cultures make their way into the gastrointestinal tract. The yogurt "good" bacteria join with other micoflora in the gastrointestinal tract and do some very helpful things for your body. Here is a list of all the good things that one cup of yogurt does for you:

- Break down food and help digest it.

- Maintain a healthy level of bile salts in the digestive system (helps fight toxic flora in the gut).

- Slows growth of health threatening pathogens.

- Reduces chlolesteral.

- Suppresses tumor growth.

- Discourages harmful microrganisms inside the wall of the GI tract.

- Stimulates production of interferon, a group of proteins that increases the strength and activity of killer cells that form the core of human immune system.

- Generates a natural antibiotic affect that gets rid of unfriendly putrefactive bacteria living in the bowel. These bacteria clog the digestive system, produce toxic waste, and in many cases initiate disease.

Personal Experience and My Favorite Yogurt

I can tell you from personal experience that consuming yogurt really does work for problems with your digestion. I have had two instances in my life where I have had digestive problems both coming from bad bacteria in my digestive system. In each case consuming yogurt was part of my treatment. You will find that when your stomach is bothering you, yogurt is something that goes down very easily. For coping with digestive problems I also drink chamomile and ginger tea. I also take digestive enzymes. You can find these in a chewable form or capsule.

My favorite yogurt is Greek Yogurt. Greek Yogurt does not have the tangy taste of regular yogurt and it is much thicker and more creamy. Though it is relatively new to the market place you can find it in most grocery stores. Greek Yogurt also comes in flavors such as strawberry, blueberry and vanilla.
