Rosemary and sage are also thought to contain nutritional elements that keep hair hydrated.

Diets that contain high amounts of sugar and salt are thought to be detrimental to hair growth, as are high-fat diets. These elements tend to create higher levels of acids in the blood, due to their affect on the kidneys. A natural approach to improving a daily diet would include a reduction of certain red meats, sweetened food and beverages, many dairy products and processed foods in general, which contain high amounts of refined sugars and salts. By following this diet women may find it useful as a natural treatment for hair loss in women.
