Natural Weight Loss Cooking Tricks

One method of losing weight is to prepare your own food on a daily basis.  This will help you to reinvent recipes and preparation of the foods that you love and reduce your daily calorie intake too. 

One great tip is to roast vegetables before you use them in your cooking.  Roasting gives vegetables a sweeter taste meaning that you don’t need to add sugar, butter, or creamy sauces to them.  They can be served on their own or you can puree them and then use them as a base for dips, stocks, and sauces.  This method produces some great low calorie and great tasting foods. 

A major problem of eating foods low in calories is that they tend to taste quite plain and bland.  To make these foods more attractive and palatable why not add different spices?  Adding herbs and spices to water oil is a great way to add flavor to rice and cous cous.  These are great foods as they are high in fiber. 

You don’t need to add fats such as butter, oils or fats to your food when baking.  If you substitute with purees you will add flavor and moisture to your baked goods making them taste so much better. 

Another useful tip is to use fresh fruits and juices in your cooking.  This can really decrease the amount of sugars and fats that you use in your recipes.  You can even add these ingredients to savory recipes to give them a little more oomph! 

Yet another trick is to use a wire rack whenever you cook.  If you place the wire rack over your roasting pan this enables the fatty juices to drain off into the pan.  Fish and meats can also be grilled in milk or coconut milk which can actually save you money as well as calories. 

Another solution is to cook using a cooking spray whenever it is possible.  A spray oil can save you from consuming literally thousands of calories.  Most people choose to fry their food in at least one tablespoon of oil and this can contain over 2000 fat calories.  When you cook these foods all you really need is a small spray of oil to coat your pan and this will only cost you seven calories per spray. 

This doesn’t mean you have to purchase spray oils that have been commercially made.  Special pressurized canisters are available that you can decant your own oils into making for a much cheaper option. 

If you want to add more moisture to your cooking then you can add some low fat broth or juice as this will help your vegetables cook at a faster rate whilst at the same time giving them extra flavor. 

The secret here is that it is possible to cook with just about everything else instead of using fat.  This means you can cut out unnecessary calories from your meals.  In fact, making your own food is one of the best methods you can use to ensure you lose weight naturally and maintain a healthy and fit body.
