Natural Weight Loss

Losing weight naturally has nothing to do with weight loss pills.  Many of the pills available today do assist weight loss, but usually this rapid loss of pounds can be linked to loss of huge amounts of water from the body.

Many of the weight loss products on the market are diuretics and the side effects of these is that they cause you to become very dehydrated.  In fact, many weight loss pills contain caffeine and ephedrine and these can accelerate your bodily functions to the extent where you actually forget to eat or drink.  This same applies to the food supplement hoodia.  This is a herbal remedy, but it still has very powerful diuretic properties that cause dramatic water loss rather than pounds.

The problem is that even natural remedies that contain natural ingredients are not always going to be good for you.  Many herbs have powerful side effects that can be hazardous to our health and cause health issues such as dehydration, diarrhea, constipation and feelings of disassociation.

If you do choose to follow a weight loss regime that includes herbal weight loss products then you need to make sure that you drink water before, during and after any exercise you partake in and especially if that exercise is at a strenuous level.  The recommended fluid intake is between ten and fourteen ounces each day prior to taking part in any athletic activity.  This is essential if you want to avoid post-workout fatigue.

When you take any weight loss pill you need to take in a lot of water.  A good rule is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day.  For example, if you weight 160 pounds you should aim to drink at least 80 ounces of water each day.  This is approximately the same as drinking between 8 and ten bottles each day.  Drinking this amount can also help to dilute any side effects that you might experience when taking pills that are not completely natural.

It doesn’t matter if you feel thirsty or not.  You should try to force yourself to drink water as some supplements cause a feeling of disassociate which can mean you forget to follow a healthy lifestyle and effectively forget to drink when you need to.  You won’t notice that your mouth is dry or the pills will make you feel so active to the point of superhuman that you will feel that you don’t need any food or water.

If you must, drink your fluids in the form of sports drinks or diluted fruit juices in order to get enough water into your body.  Do whatever you possibly can to ensure your body has all the water it needs and that you do not become dehydrated.
