Blood clots

We allĀ need to take more care of our own bodies. The only person responsible for it is ourselves. So why not make a start, It is never too late or too early to make an effort. We can all eat better, drink less, smoke less and learn to smile and make the most of our lives.

You cannot buy your health, although you can try and be happy. In doing so you may help prevent many medical conditions. In this instance we are talking about blood clots.

Blood clots are responsible for many of our health problems in the world. For instance, heart attack, complications from cancer or stroke. A blood clot is life's natural way of healing by the blood thickening, to form a scab and eventually healing the wound.

A blood clot can form in any of the blood vessels, which would stop the blood flow. If it happens in any coronary arteries, it could cause a heart attack or a stroke. Patients at risk should change their lifestyle by eating a healthy diet and exercising more. To help in prevention of strokes and heart attack, their medical practitioner often prescribes them to take a low dose aspirin. They will prescribe this if one of their family members have suffered from a stroke or heart attack.

USE OF DRUGS

Several doctors prescribe the use of drugs to prevent them, although these could cause more problems with serious bleeding leading to death in some cases. They need to have frequent blood tests, before doctors prescribe warfarin, because it has been difficult to prescribe the correct dose.

USE OF HERBS AND VITAMINS

A number of people have used Herbs for centuries in the aid to healthier living. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, reduces cholesterol, and helps to prevent blood clots. Ginger will help prevent them. Dark chocolate helps, and Vitamin C prevents the oxidation of bad cholesterol, which helps prevent blood clots. Hawthorn is another herb used for blood and heart problems, although do not take this without the advice from your doctor.

We all need an intake of Vitamin C. To obtain fresh sources of this, we need to eat berries, potatoes, capsicum, fresh vegetables, and citrus fruits.

To help prevent blood clots, you can choose not to smoke, or drink. Exercise more frequently and generally improve your style of living. Sitting behind a computer day after day with your legs crossed will not help.

When you sit and cross your legs it disrupts the free flow of blood. If you plan to take a holiday by plane, make sure you get up and walk around, from time to time, and wear support stockings especially designed to wear while flying.

Thank you for this vital information. People need to realizes how important DVT can be. I am 27 years old and I was diagnoised with it in November of 2007. And to be honest with you I did not know thw systoms of DVT. All I know is that my leg was aching painfully. Itfelt as if I had a tooth ache in my leg and all I remembered was waking up in the middle of the night with severe pain. Then that's when I said it was time to go to the ER.
