Remedy For Nausea
Peppermint
Even though it's an old home remedy for nausea, peppermint really works good. Take 1/2 cup of fresh peppermint leaves and put them in 1 cup of boiling water. Let that mixture soak for about 10 minutes and then strain.
Cloves
Simply chewing on 3-4 whole cloves can relieve common nausea.
Ginger
Take 2 capsules of dried ginger, 500 mg each.
Ginger Tea
Referred to quite often as the most effective home remedy for nausea, take about 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger root, grate it or finely chop it and add it to 1 cup of boiling water. Cover the cup with a saucer or something and let it sit there for about 10 minutes. Strain it and then drink it. If you grated the ginger you can skip the straining and drink everything for even more effectiveness.
If you are in a bind, you could use powdered ginger from your spice rack. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of powdered ginger with 1 cup of boiling water, and let it soak for about 10 minutes. However this is not as effective as fresh ginger root because with the processed ginger powder, a lot of the volatile oils are missing.
Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet is another very good home remedy for nausea. Take 1 cup of boiling water and mix in about 1 tablespoon of the dried herb. Let it soak for about 10 minutes and then strain it.
Mint
Simply chewing on fresh mint leaves can relieve common nausea.
Marjoram
Create a tea by mixing 1 cup of boiling water with several stems of marjoram. Let the mixture soak for about 10 minutes. Strain it and add honey to sweeten to your liking.
Chamomile
Chamomile is probably the most soothing home remedy for nausea. Create a tea by mixing about 1 teaspoon of dried chamomile in about 1 cup of boiling water. Let it soak for about 10 minutes. Strain it and then add a little bit of cinnamon, maybe 1/4 teaspoon.
Anise
Take about 1 teaspoon of aniseed and add it to 1 cup of boiling water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then strain out the seeds.
For even quicker and stronger results, slowly chew and swallow about 1 teaspoon of seeds.
Fennel
Fennel is another very effective home remedy for nausea and can be taken in a few different ways.
As a tincture, take about 40 drops per 8 ounce glass of water. You can also get the benefit of fennel by drinking Swedish bitters. As mentioned above, take about 40 drops of bitters per glass of water.
Fennel seeds can be extremely effective, just make sure you chew them up very well before swallowing.
Beverages
Do not drink carbonated drinks or cold drinks while experiencing nausea.
Foods
If you must eat while experiencing nausea, eat light carbohydrates first, like crackers or toast. As you begin to feel better, you can step up to light proteins like chicken breast or maybe fish.
Catnip
Catnip tea can be found at many health food stores and also works well for nausea.
Peppermint And Caraway Seed
Take about 1 tablespoon of caraway seed and 1 tablespoon of dried peppermint and mix together. Now take 1 teaspoon of this mixture and mix it with 1 cup of boiling water and let it soak for about 15 minutes. Strain it and then sweeten it with honey if you desire.
