Nayantara born as Diana Kurien on November 8th, 1984 in Thiruvalla town of Kerala is a talented upcoming South Indian actress and a renowned ex-model, who won the Best Model Award of Kerala in 2002.

she was raised in a Tiruvalla based Christian family. She completed her B.A. Literature and was planning on becoming a Charted Accountant before a big movie break came her way. Nayanthara just could not say no to the movie offer and then the rest was all history. Many refer to Nayanthara as the perfect balance between beauty and acting. She is currently one of the busiest actresses in the southern film industry and has acted in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. Initially she was known to perfectly play the role of a ‘seeda saada homely girl’, but now she has transformed her image and has started accepting more glamorous roles. This young actress is now looking more sexier than ever and has a long way to go in the South Indian Film industry.

Nayantara has completed her BA Literature. She was doing her CA when she got an offer to act in a Malayalam film "Manasinakkare" directed by Sathyan Anthikkad in which she paired opposite to Jayaram. The film was a great hit in Kerela. This paved the way for her entry into Tamil Cinema. She is a self confident person and is always found calm. Her hobbies are reading books and listening to music. Her favorite color is Black. She loves North Indian food. She is comfortable working with all the heroes and fully involves herself in whatever role she does and this obviously is the reason for her success in the field.

After the success of her first movie, the voluptuous beauty went on to act in several movies, in which she was cast alongside the great South Indian superstars like Mohanlal in Fazil written and directed "Vismayathumbathu" and "Natturajavu" {both 2004 movies}, with Mammooty in "Rappakal" and "Thaskara Veeran" {both released in 2005}, with Rajnikanth in a blockbuster movie "Chandramukhi" {2005}, with Surya in super hit "Ghajini" {2005}, and with Nagarjuna in "Boss" {2006}. Her recent movie, "Dubai Seenu" opposite Ravi Teja is slowly picking up and moving towards a big hit. Incidentally her brother, Lenu resides in Dubai. Nayantara is more than happy to have starred in a Rajnikanth starrer "Shivaji" {2007} albeit in an item number.

Before her entry into Tollywood, Nayanthara was already famous amongst the Telugu moviegoers, who liked her in the dubbed version of the movie 'Chandramukhi'. She had captured the hearts of the Telugu movie fans with two of the biggest hit movies in recent times like 'Lakshmi' and 'Boss'. Following the huge success of her Telugu movies, Nayanthara is said to be so over booked with new movies that she is rejecting some of the biggest names in South Indian Film industry due to lack of dates.
