Thinking About Getting A Neck Tattoo: Popular Designs And Locations

Neck tattoos are one of the most visible tattoos that a person can get and therefore they are a decision that should not be taken lightly. Since a neck tattoo is so visible one has to carefully consider what type of tattoo design they want to get and how this will look to other people. One will also have to consider their professional or career options before getting a neck tattoo. However despite all of these things neck tattoos are growing in popularity as tattoos are becoming more and more common place in our culture more people are getting increasingly daring in their tattoo choices.

More On Neck Tattoos

Popular Spots For Neck Tattoos Typically neck tattoos will fall into one of thee locations. The first is the front of the neck and while this is not a very common place people are now getting tattoos here especially ones that continue up from a chest tattoo. The sides of the neck is another place that people often get tattooed. These are often done symmetrically and on both sides of the neck to look balanced. The last and probably the most common place for a neck tattoo is the back of the neck also known as the nape of the neck.

While neck tattoos have not been super common they are becoming more common these days. Many people are simply continuing a design up onto the neck. For example a large dragon tattoo on the shoulder might have a tail that continues up onto the neck.

Pain Level

Most people that have gotten a neck tattoo before will state that it was one of the most painful places to get a tattoo. If you think about it the neck is not a place that has lots of extra mucle or layers of fatty tissue between the skin and the one. Thus makes getting a neck tattoo more painful then other tattoo locations.

For Females

Neck tattoos once were primarily associated with gang tattoos and very popular among men. However these days women are getting neck tattoos more then ever before. In fact many women today are getting nape or the back of the neck tattoo designs. This is a little different for women since their hair can be wrong down and cover the tattoo for the most part.

If you are thinking about getting a neck tattoo take your time and make the choice wisely. Don't just get a neck tattoo because one of your friends did or because you heard it was popular. However, if you feel strongly about getting such a tattoo then by all means you should go for it and not let other dictate your own personal choices about your body and your body art.

Hey Andy, I think that this rule is specific to this parlour, I myself would like a neck tattoo for my first and have been asking around, each parlour says they will do it as long as I am 18. I hope this helped :)
