Medical careers are worth the effort.
Medical careers are worth the effort.

The medical profession

Work in the medical field is hard, time consuming, and well paying. You should only apply for these positions if you are a hard driven person who truly cares about alleviating human suffering. There are enough quacks already.

There are many area’s to choose from and you should be picky. Know you can’t stick someone with a needle but still have the drive to help? Be a research assistant or technician. Those jobs handle files, paperwork, and things like x-rays.

Think you could do a nurses job but don’t really like seeing injuries? Work in a private physicians office as an assistant, or a nursing home, where quality medical care for seniors is hard to find.

Like a challenge, like seeing the gory details and know how to handle yourself in an emergency? Become a paramedic.

Think you have the guts to fix someone else’s? Become a Doctor. Emergency rooms are overworked for lack of qualified doctors and nurses. Sure it takes a lot of time and you might be thinking you’re too old but we’re all beginning to realize that’s not true. There are 60 year old Nascar Drivers, 45 year old NFL Quarter backs, and a 53 year old woman recently had a baby. Age means little if you’ve got the heart and drive to back it up. It’s a hard, time consuming career but it’s also one that’ll make you stronger than you’ve ever been and pay you well.
