Do you really need a website? In my opinion you really do need a website to become a successful Internet Marketing entrepreneur.

There are many who say you don't need a website to suceed online. But they are mistaken. Oh you might generate some revenue by placing ads in classifieds and maybe submitting your affiliate link on traffic exchanges. But if you want to compete with the big boys you better build a website and or blog. Actually combine the two for extra added results.

I would shy away form instant websites or websites that give you the ability to make your own website via a template or online editor. In my opinion this is a BIG mistake. You need full control over you online business website or blog.

If money is no object to you...then by all means pay someone to build and develop a website the way you want it done. But remember you need your own hosting and your own domain name. There at still many .com name extensions available get creative with your domain name.

You might even try using your own personal name as a domain name. Check to see if it's available at godaddy.com

Yea....I built and developed my own websites. My First website guzmansgreenhouse.com is about southwestern gardening. I generate revenue from adsense ads and the affiliate links on the site. I also have a large subscriber list. I use this list to correspond with my subscribers.

It took time and patience to get the desired outcome and I still need to edit and maintain it on a daily basis.

I do not consider myself brainy by any means, as a matter of fact some say I might be a little dense....could be. The point I am trying to make here is you do not have to be Rhodes Scholar or very techy. However you do need drive, determination and a willingness to never give up. If you have that you will succeed.

The Best place to purchase a domain name is at godaddy.com go there now and purchase one. It's easy and only cost about 10 bucks. This is not an affiliate link just a straight hyperlink to Godaddy.com They are by far the best domain registrar on the Intnernet today. Remember use the .com extension not .tv or .org. Most people will remember mywebsite.com not mywebsite.org!

Webhosting: Or as most folks call it a place to park your website. Kind of like a street vendor where you can showcase your products, services, and or both but only on the internet. The best place to get webhosting is Hostgator.com They have webhosting at about 7.97 per month. I suggest ordering the baby package. So this means you can have a website started for about 18.00 USD dollars.

Now you need content for your website. Where do you get it? You get it from your own personal knowledge, from what's inside your brain. Write about what you know...I can't stress this enough. You really do not need lots of flashy graphics or heavy javascripts. Just write it down. Use your favorite word processor or get a pen and paper and start formulating what you want to convey to your website visitors.

Traffic! Yes just like the street vendor who needs lots of traffic so people can see what they have to offer. If you want a successful website you need traffic...and the best kind of traffic is free. Beleive me free traffic is the best.

Write articles about what you know and submit them to article directories. This method is easy and creates lots of traffic to my websites. Develop hubs right here on hubpages.com and don't forget squidoo.com and a slew of other social networking websites.

You can also pay for traffic. I would steer clear of any website or person who says "50 thousand Visitors for $29.99". I can guarantee you will NOT benefit from the results.

PPC (Pay Per Click) Is better and if done correctly is targeted and can result in better ROI (Return On Investment). I highly suggest doing research before starting a PPC campaign.

Traffic Exchanges are another way to generate traffic, however I personally only use a couple that work really well. Trafficswarm.com is the best they have a great anti-cheat system. One big tip here do not use your website or web page as the URL for traffic exchanges. Instead use a squeeze or landing page instead.

SEO is an abbreviation for "Search Engine Optimization". I love SEO because the traffic is free. Learn how to optimize your website. Here is how it's done. I will try to make it as simple as I possibly can.

SEO is a way to make your website or blog appear in the top ten or so position of the Search engines using proper keyword positioning in your HTML. The only Search Engines I worry about are Google, Yahoo and MSN all the rest are small fish in the sea.

HTML is Hyper-Text-Machine-Language and is what web browsers use to make your website readable.

Learn HTML now. If you are a complete newbie this stuff below may look like greek to you, but once you learn HTML it will make sense. There are tons of websites that will help learn. Just "google" Free HTML lessons. Jeez.... what could be easier. One of the best places is HTMLgoodies.com the lessons are free.

Your "Title Description" should appear on the first header of your webpage.

Like this: <h1>How to repair refrigerators</h1> How to repair refrigerators should also appear on the first paragraph of your page. Now you should write like you are talking to me in person. Yes write naturally and sprinkle your text with the "How to repair refrigerators" phrase throughout the page. If you know how to repair refrigerators then write about "repairing refrigerators, fixing them, all about refrigerators".

Add a second header <h2)your second keyword</h2> down further into your paragraph.

Remember the most important part of adding content is to use your own content. Write if yourself do not copy another writers writing. You can visit other similar website to get ideas but do not copy.
