Negative Calorie Diet

Have you heard or read about easy weight loss with negative calorie diets?

The theory is that your body uses a certain amount of energy (ie calories) to digest and process food. Certain foods contain fewer calories than it takes to digest and process them through your body. So the end result is that you burn more calories by eating these foods than you actually intake. This is the negative calorie they talk about. The end result is that you lose weight - the more you eat, the more calories are burned.They will tell you that you can lose weight at a vast rate of knots eg a stone in 2 weeks, or whatever. Please be aware that you should not lose weight that quickly - you will not keep it up, and it is an unhealthy speed of dieting. Read on.

Now that is the theory of easy and natural weight loss without dieting. In actual fact things are never that clear and easy (you knew there would be a catch, right?).

Firstly, before I put you off, this system does really work. The foods you have to stick to are fruits and vegetables, with high water and fiber content. So although you can eat as much as you want of these foods, you may find it hard, tedious or just plain boring to eat this stuff! Its all vegetarian as well! (That may be a pro or a con in your opinion).

However there are ways around this - I would advise that you do not stick to this diet 100%. Incorporate the ideas into a normal diet. By adjusting things this way you can start to make a personalised diet that not only suits you, but is remarkably efficient in helping you lose weight without having to cut down on food intake quantities.

So lets be sensible - and realistic. Aim at losing weight at 1.5 to 2 pounds per week. Easily attainable by using this method. The fact that the foods are high in water and fiber content will mean that you will feel fuller than you would on many other diets. This ensures that the diet is easier to stick to as well as leading toa more permanent weight loss,as you don't automatically fail the diet and pig out afterwards. Lets face it, thats what happens with most other diets.

The Nitty Gritty

Here is a brief list of foods that you should try to eat wherever possible. Look at your normal foods and try to substitute as many items as possible from this list.

* Asparagus

* Apples

* Beets

* Blueberries

* Broccoli

* Cabbage (green)

* Cantaloupes

* Carrots

* Cauliflower

* Celery

* Chilli peppers(hot)

* Clams

* Cranberries

* Cucumbers

* Dandelion

* Endive

* Garden cress

* Garlic

* Grapefruit

* Lettuce

* Onions

* Oranges

* Papaya

* Pineapples

* Radishes

* Raspberries

* Spinach

* Strawberries

* Tangerines

* Turnips

* Zucchini

For instance try making a salad to eat with your meal with lettuce, cucumber, onion, shredded carrots, peppers, celery and maybe slices of apple.

You could make a side dish of crudités – i.e. sticks of celery, carrot and cucumber, to dip in a mix made from maybe a little natural fat free yoghurt, flavoured with a combination of garlic, onion, red pepper or chilli.

Green beans, peas, carrots can be combined together with aspic, then sliced as a sort of veggy loaf.

Snacks could be made with Jell-O,with carrots or salad, and sugar free crea, yoghurt or creme fraiche.

Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless.

But normally even when taking these negatove calorie food, we will have sauce and dressings, which will add back whatever negative calorie from the food. Don't you think so? And will this negate the benefits?

I am tierd of waight loss pills that do not work. I have found that when I eat the right stuff and work out that I lose some but it take's forever. I still have the extra skin after you lose the waight. does anyone know any old home remedies I know this is not a fast and easy thing but there has got to be somthing I can fix to eat that will keep me from being hungry and also good for me and give me some energy. I dont care how it tast can anyone help email me please at sassy2039@aol.com
