Which one is right for you?

Netbooks differ from traditional notebook computers in three main ways: they're smaller and lighter, simpler to use, and its hardware and software configurations are optimized for Internet consumption. They won't replace your notebook but they're a great little PC that you can take just about anywhere. And they shine when connected to the Internet.

Great for the Internet, netbooks are an affordable option for education, photo and video viewing, social networking, voice over IP, e-mail, messaging, browsing and other Internet activities as well as for basic applications.

Netbooks are powered by IntelĀ® AtomTM processor, Intel's smallest processor and is built with the world's smallest transistors based on industry-leading 45nm high-k metal gate technology. Netbooks offer both emerging and mature markets an easy-to -use device with simple interfaces and targeted performance for a good online experience. Netbooks are rugged and compact in design, and offer the freedom and flexibility of wireless connectivity.

Low-cost computers designed specifically for Internet consumption are gaining attention - and market share. Netbooks don't replace fully-fledged laptops or desktop computers. Rather, if your primary reason for having a computer is to connect with other people in a rich, Internet-centric environment like Facebook, netbooks are simply a portable and low-cost way of making it possible.

There are two distinct market opportunities for the netbook. In the developing world, netbooks will attract first-time buyers. They will exist alongside cell phones as a means for people to connect to the Internet and communicate. The low price and practical functionality will bring millions of new people into the global web and we believe this is driving a giant new wave of digital inclusion and enfranchisement.

At the same time, netbooks also are driving up device density in mature markets, as existing users buy "companion" devices to higher-performance mainstream PCs. Netbooks will become supplemental PCs and ready access points into the cloud of Internet services, media and information. Its an extra PC for traveling, an extra PC for school work for the kids, a PC set up in the kitchen by the telephone to look up directions to the little league field or select items from a restaurant's takeout menu.
