Netflix. A movie money saver!
52Movies are a big recreation at my house. On our trips shopping, my boyfriend and I would always spend at least twenty dollars on movies. Usually hitting up the $5 bin at Wal-mart. Seemed like a pretty good deal at the time, but when I think back about how much we've spent on movies, it's a bit staggering. Often times the movies we've never even watched again.
Recently we made the purchase of an Xbox 360. Gaming is the other big recreation at my house. With a little research, we discovered we could save quite a bit of money with Netflix and use the convenience of the Xbox 360 to watch movies.
Netflix has several plans started at as little as $8.99 a month. This is the plan we opted for. You sign up online and pick from a huge selection of movies. They send you the first one you chose and when you're done watching it you mail it back and they send you what's next on a list you make. For a higher monthly fee you can have more dvds sent at a time. All postage is prepaid and they send you the evelope to mail it back in.
Another nice feature is that there are movies you can stream instantly to your PC or Xbox 360. Over 12,000 instant titles currently. We have yet to run out of interesting movies to watch and I doubt we will anytime soon.
Going to a video rental store and renting two movies costs more than Netflix does a month. I'd heard about Netflix for a while but was very skeptical until I actually signed up. It really is an amazing service and it saves my family a considerable sum of money.
Before we got the Netflix service it seemed we were always out of the loop on what was current. That $5 dollar bin at Wal-Mart doesn't exactly have current titles. Now we watch all the new releases that we want.
Hopefully this doesn't sound like an advertisement. I just think it would help out some other people who need to save money and still enjoy movies to know about Netflix.
