I know many of us like to goto the movies and see our favorite actor or actress on the silver screen. And I know most of us have waited in the ticket line or went through some sort of movie ticket purchassing service. Well, here lately the way we watch movies is no longer what movie will we watch but how confortable to do we want to be.We all at one time or another have ventutred into the movie theater and sat in those chairs and then had some employee walk in and give you a set of do's and dont's and you just say "yeah right" then they leave and you do just as you want too. Well, with these two companies I am about to talk about in this hub might change your mind about going to the movie theater.

Netflix and Redbox are very strong competitors for your business when it comes to movie rentals. They both run ad's saying what they offer and what plans you can get. But do we really want to waste more money on theater tickets when we can have movies delivered to us and we can watch them in the comfort of our own homes. I have tried both these services and I am proud to say in my opinion Redbox out does Netflix by many reasons for me, but however that might not be the way you feel. All I ask is for you to let me explain the differences between both companies and you can judge for yourselves which company it is right for you.

First we will begin with Netflix.com, they are an online movie rental store that allows you to join one of their 3 plans and you will have your movie delivered to your home. The different plans lets you rent 3 movies of your choice for a flat fee of $16.99 a month, they also offer individual plans as low as $4.99 a month. But why would you pay for a subscription service for movies that you can stream online, It does not matter if you stream them online to your personal computer or Xbox 360, you still have a flat fee coming out every month.I have experimented with this service till one day my fieance showed me an alternative to renting movies online.

Now that you have seen some things that Netflix.com can do for your pocketbook, let's look at an alternative choice and that is Redbox. Redbox is also an online movie rental company, but it allows you to rent from right in your own neighborhood. I know most of us have seen some kiosk;s in the grocery stores or malls that say Redbox on them. But how does Redbox work? Redbox is much like Netflix, but there is no flat fee or monthly subscription service to constantly pay every month. All you have to do is goto www.redbox.com and create a free account. The only down side is it does require a credit/debit card in order to establish your account, but when I tell you what the movie rental's are you will soon agree with me as to why you wouldn't want to continue using Netflix.com.

The cost of each movie is $1.00 per rental.... No joke, $1.00 per movie and you will get a monthly e-mail telling you what the lastest releases are for you to rent online. Now Redbox does not mail them out too you, but they do allow you to return every DVD you rent to a different Redbox kiosk if you want too. I think it is wounderfull for that, because when will you be able to know if Netflix recieved your DVD unless you check your account. When you return a Redbox DVD to the kiosk it atomatically tells you it is recieved and allows you to rent or pick-up your next rental immeadiatly. Plus you dont have to wait in a ticket line or sit in ugly seats and have little kids or cell phones go off. I for one have used this service and strongly reccomend it over the other because of price for one and no monthly subscription is required, plus I am e-mailed once a month of all new releases, unlike Netflix where you que it up and wait for it to come.

So now that you have read what each company has to offer the choice is ultimatly yours to make. I know which one I made, but is it right for you. I for one am not an employee of Redbox or Netflix, so what do I have to loose other than your suport of reading my future hubs. So in this economic time, why pay high subscription rates when you can save money and still get great movie rentals.

*The $1.00 movie rental fee may or may not be the same in every market so please check your local Redbox kiosk for more details.
