Wired Network
Realizing the flexibility in the wireless communication protocol, we still prefer to use a wired network for home and business. The wired setup has no distance limitations (as long as network cable is available), no interference possibilities, longevity, security, speed and on its side. There still should be Internet Security software on each computer connected through a hub, switch or router because it is the last possible point of attack.

Wireless Network
The complexibility of a wireless network is to match up the frequency and speed with the applicable protocol standard (i.e. 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n). Each one of these protocols has a frequency and speed which makes it compatible with a previous protocol.
There is also an additional layer of security that should be put in place when considering this type of network. If you think of a radio and understand that radio waves travel through open space you realize (changing a default SSID in your router, disabling visibility of the SSID and encrypting at the highest possible method) become necessary and represent the additional layer of security that we recommend when considering a wireless network. This should supplement the the Internet Security software on each computer connected through a hub, switch or router because it is the last possible point of attack.
