Network Marketers, Puppies and Training – The Common Factor

Well, it sounded like a good idea.  It was going to be so easy.  Starting to sound familiar?

Puppies and new network marketers have a lot in common.  Most of them fail.

Puppies need dedication.

Puppies need training.

Puppies need work.

Puppies need lot of attention to make them into successful dogs.

But something has happened.  I do not want to even share with you the grime statics of the number of new puppies that end up at the pound before the age of 2.  And of those less than 25% are adopted out – half of them are returned to the pound within a few months.

Why?  The puppies have failed to live up to unrealistic expectations of their owners.  Many of these owners did little to train, work and develop the puppies’ skills and work on proper behaviors.

Somehow they thought that these puppies would just train themselves.  It would be magic.  The puppies would just come home, love them, sit patiently and know what to do after being told to sit once or twice.  It is a joke.

Puppies need a bunch of good solid, consistent training and practice from their owners to develop into successful loved dogs.  Without it, most puppies fail and end up in the dog pound.

Many network marketers have the same attitude as the puppy owners when they come into the industry. Unrealistic expectations. It is so easy anyone can do it. I just have to make a few calls. Talk to a couple of people. Put in an hour or two a week. People will be lining up to join me and buy my amazing product. Life will be great and I will be rich in a few months. That is a complete fantasy for most.

Most have no way to generate leads other than friends or family. Most alo have no marketing skill or background. Even fewer have a current network marketing or mlm training program to help them move forward.

To really make it online or offline in network marketing or MLM, takes being dedicated to growing and learning and climbing out of your comfort zone.

To be successful takes training and time – it does not happen overnight or in a few short days. Rome was not built overnight nor are most successful networking dynasties.

To see real results, it takes hard work. It requires consistent action and on-going training. Just because it works today does not mean it will work next week. You have to be plugged in and adapt.

Attention is required to develop your own business and not to treat it as a hobby. No one starts a traditional small business and only spends one or two hours a week on it expecting it to flourish. MLM and network marketing is the same. You can do that once you have it all in place and going – not from the start.

New network marketers like puppies in the end needing a lot of good solid, consistent training and action. Find someone to learn and train with, lock arms and move forward with them. Choose someone you like and can relate to such as Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard or one of the dozen other top trainers in the industry.

Without it, most network marketers are also doomed to fail and end up with nothing but bills just like the poor little puppies in the dog pound.

P.S. Changing companies or puppies will not help to solve the problem.

Samanatha,

What a great analogy with pummpies and network marketing. i love dogs but I also know they need alot of work.

You summed up network marketing beatuifully, and compariing it with training puppies, is really good.

I think people can relate to that because they would have had similar experiences.

It really took me back to my first days in my business and what my sponsor said to me. They do make it sound so easy, then reality kicks in.

Yes it does take consistency, ongoing training and working hard, learning the skills about marketing, and treating it like a business and not a hobby. Also having the right leaders helping you and encourage you is so important.

thank you for sharing with us

Thank you Rosemary. It is a lot of work but worth it in the end.
