Network marketing, or multi-level-marketing is not a buisness you can do on your own.  To be effective in this business you must bring other people into your organization so they can help you to expand the business both helping you and themselves.  But you can't be successful by just bringing anyone in.  You must find the right people who will put the time in if you want to build a downline that will support you in the way you want to live.

So what is the right type of person to go after.  A great network marketing person (and there is no reason to settle for anything less than great, is someone who is a swelf-starter, is good talking with people, and can handle rejection.  Does this sound familiar?  These are the qualities of a good sale person.  That makes sense because building a MLM business is really about sales.  You must sell the propect on joining your organization and promoting the program.  You also must sell the product or service that is offered, which is important, but that is not where the real money comes from.  Success in this buisness comes from building up your stable of high power associates and not from going door to door selling soap or vitamins.

Successful sales people can do very well in multi-level marketing because they understand that it is a numbers game and they are willing to play the numbers.  Take car salesmen for example.  They do not sell a car to every person who walks on the lot.  Instead they may sell to every 5 people, or every 10 people, or maybe every 20 people.  That means the sales person is told NO 4 out of 5 times, or 9 out of 10 times, or even 19 out of 20 times.  To a normal person this can be devstating but to a successful sales professional.  They know that every rejection is just a road to the next sale.  So, instead of copmlaing about a person who say NO they respond with, "OK, that's one no out of the way I only have 3 more no's and I will make a sale."

See the difference.  When you understand the numbers you are going to be much better handling the rejection.  When someone tells you they are not interested in your business opportunity you can say thank you and then move on to the next.  This person was just a number you had to get through in order to find the one who says yes.

When you are talking to a potential member of your organization remember that it is about them and not about you.  The person sitting across the table from you does not care how much money you make or what the program does for you.  They are interested in only one thing.  What will the program do for them.

When you are trying to convert network marketing leads into a members of your downline be sure to let them be the center of attention.  Ask questions and let them tell you what you need to say in order for them to want to join.  I know this means you have to actually listem to them but it is well worth it.  People like to talk about themselves and great sales people know that sometimes listening is much better for a sale than hard selling.
