Network marketing prospecting is a very important part of building a MLM business and is also referred to as mlm lead generation. With prospecting you are basically out looking for the gold members who will really push your business up to the next level. As in any mining there are a lot of places you can look to attempt to strike it rich but some areas have much better potential than others. Finding these good places and then mining the people found there for business builders who are interested in your opportuntiy is the name of the game.
This is not a skill we are born with but continuing to train yourself you can learn how to become successful with this important skill.
The thing with prospecting is you really need to pay attention to what the chances of success are in a particular area you are mining. For example, some people say a coffee shop is a good place to prospect because you have the chance to meet so many people. There is a lot of traffic in a coffee shop but how are you going to pick out the person who will be successful from the people who just need a caffeine fix? Just because a place has a lot of people does not mean those people are worth talking to about your opportunity.
When trying to find new members you want to go where people are already exhibiting the types of traits that will bring success in the MLM business. One of the most important attributes of a success network marketing professional is to be able to talk to people and get some type of results from the convresation. Who does that on a daily basis? Sales people. If you want to find people who are comfortable talking to customers then always make your mini-pitch to any sales person you come in contact with.
If they are working for more than a month then they have shown an ability to interact with people and to get some kind of results. These people are like a diamond in the rough that you can mine for your mlm network marketing business. They already have the basic understanding of how to apporach people, make small talk, steer them to a result, and then maybe not close but at least bring the customer to the brink of finalization.

Many trainers will tell you to go where people are hungry in order to prospect for new network leads. This is true in one sense but not in another. You want people who are hungry for a better life but not all people who are hungry can be counted on to do anything to help themselves, and ultimately you, build a successful business.
For example, people at a food bank are hungry. That is why they are there. But are they likely candidates for inclusinon in you business. Well think about it. Sometimes a person who has a lot on the ball will fall on hard times for a little while but they don't stay there very long.
The sad fact is that most of the people who are in line, again most but not all, are people who are uneducated and really don't have the social skills or drive to better their position. These people tend to be stuck in this poverty level position. There are probably some who could be trained to do well but the chances are not great.
You would be much better off to go where people have shown a willingness to better themselves to do your network marketing prospecting.
