There are some couples who would prefer to have their baby’s gender as a surprise. But since you need the baby’s room to be ready at least a week before the baby comes home, how would you design your baby’s bedroom without knowing its gender?
Your baby’s room will be the center of your baby’s world. This is the room where your baby will be rested and nurtured. This is why it is important to make the room as cozy and as attractive as possible.
Most parents design their baby’s room based on the baby’s gender but not knowing whether you will be back with a baby boy or baby girl can make decorating a challenge. Here are some fun decorating ideas to welcome your baby whether it may be a boy or girl.
First of, you can choose a color palette in order to base the theme of your room on. Color is a nice place to begin your decorating ideas – especially when you are aiming for a unisex nursery. Experiment and combine colors and textures focusing on pastel colors. Yellow can make a good backdrop for the nursery since it is a sunny hue. Blue can also be a good color for your baby. Or you can simply stick to white then add more colors later when the baby’s born. You can add some pink and purple ribbons and wall stickers around for girls and have some green or blue for boys.
After choosing your colors then focus on fabrics. Fabrics can add a lot of appeal in your design. You can use colorful paisley, gingham or toile fabrics for the bedding and upholstered furniture that you may have.
When you make your baby’s bedroom, it is important that you keep its evolution in mind and to remember that you leave space for adjustments as your baby grows in the coming months. Design the room in a way that gives you opportunities to modify the space with additional furniture or accessories as your baby grows up.
It is important as a parent that you are able to create a surrounding that would show your love and comfort for your baby. A lot of memories can be created in your baby’s bedroom. Having a bedroom that looks good and homey would definitely give the both of you memories that you will cherish and value for the rest of your life.
