Neutrogena 14 Day Skin Rescue: But Does it Work?

Why would I want to try Neutrogena 14 Day Skin Rescue?

My skin has always been good. When I was a teenager I rarely broke out, and because I am fair skinned I was forced to stay out of the sun in the sun worshipping 1970s. Partly because of that, partly because of pure luck I have always had one of those porcelain complexions that people rave about. Even at age forty nine I have had few wrinkles, discolorations, or other issues.

Until the past few months that is. Maybe it has been stress, or maybe it is just age catching up with me but I started to notice that my skin was going dull and I was getting darkly pigmented blotches on the sides of my face. In fact, they became so dark that I could no longer hide them with make-up.

I was not sure what to do or what product to try. I happened to see Neutrogena 14 Day Skin Rescue at the store and decided to give it a try. I thought that in fourteen days I would have a good idea if this stuff worked as promised, or if it was another batch of advertising hoopla. It was pricey, for me anyway, at $29.00 for two weeks but still a lot less than buying each component of the kit.

The main ingredients seem to be retinol and vitamin C.

The kit contains three components:

• Cleanser- The cleanser has micro grains in it to help exfoliate your skin.  It is smooth and silky and only slightly rough when you are moving the grains around on your face. 
• Night cream- I have very sensitive skin so I was wary of this.  It did tingle a little but not enough to bother me and it did not make my skin red.
• Day cream- The day cream is spf 30 to help you from getting those blotches, or making the ones you have worse during treatment.  I would have liked this to have more moisturizing qualities to be honest.  I have very dry skin and it soaked in so fast it was hard to apply.

For the first week you are to use the day cream and cleanser twice a day and the night cream every other night.

• Day one- I like the way this feels.  My skin seems silkier after using the cleanser.
• Day three- My skin is definitely smoother but I have to use my organic coconut oil as a moisturizer because my skin is very dry.
• Day five- I think that my skin has more clarity than it has had.  Looks younger?  Is it my imagination?
• Day seven- The spots have started to fade! 
• Day ten-Definitely working.  I can see a difference in my skin.  It is silkier, smoother, and the spots can be covered with makeup.  My oldest daughter thought my skin looked younger. 
• Day fourteen- I will definitely buy Neutrogena anti aging program at this point.  I think my skin looks better and it feels better.
  

At some point in the future there may be a product that I like better than this but at the current time this one really worked for me.  I don't often write recomendations but this is an excellent product.  It does say for normal skin but my very dry skin responded well, with the exception of needing more moisture in the mornings.
