Introduction

The purpose of this hub is to talk about the great state of Nevada but is also to provide information for drivers in Nevada. It will take a while for us to get all the modules in here so please bear with us while we're under construction and visit again! Thank you!

Scenic Drive

Nevada is known for obviously Las Vegas and nuclear testing and of course Lake Tahoe. Did you know, however, that it's also known for mining both gold and silver? In 2004 the state accounted for 8.7% of world gold production. As for relaxation there are plenty of national parks to visit and wander through. I personally like Mt. Charleston. You can ski at the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort found on SR 156. While driving on the byway make sure to watch for the Mt. Charleston Blue Butterfly and perhaps you'll get a view of the Rocky Mountain Elk. There are also 25 species of animals and plants that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Now that's what I call pretty impressive. If relaxing isn't your cup of tea, try a little rock climbing. You can still stay in Mt. Charleston. The limestone cliffs of the Spring Mountains make for awesome rock climbing terrain.

Nevada Driver’s Education Requirements

Nevada is among the many states with a required driver's education course. While most states have an optional program, this state recognizes the need for teen drivers to have instilled in them more advanced knowledge of the rules of the road and the wisdom to comprehend the consequences of the choices that they make while driving. These decisions could cause them to become another teen driving casualty, so the decision to drive should not be one made in haste.

Drivers must be at least 15 years and six months old before they apply for a learner's permit. While you do not have to complete driver's education courses before you receive a learner's permit, you do have to complete this program before you can receive your driver's license. Those that you drive with while you have a learner's permit must be at least 21 years old and carry a valid driver's license that they have held for at least one year.

The minimum amount of time you must log in order to receive your driver's license is 50 hours, 10 at night, always accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old. Driver's education requirements include at least a minimum of thirty hours of classroom instruction time, and 15 of those hours must be spent in the classroom itself. There are online classes available to help the teen driver become more familiar with the state laws concerning driving as well.
