Introducing Never Summer

We have already looking at Never Summer Snowboards. They are truly an original brand. Focusing on quality and making their products the best they possibly can be as opposed to hype filled marketing and high paid rider endorsements.

For those who cannot be bothered to read my hub on Never Summer Snowboards here is the cliffs notes version:

  • Based in Denver, CO
  • Started in 1991
  • Focus on quality and back it up with a 3 year warranty
  • Innovative and unique design
  • Largest independent snowboard brand

Introducing the SL

The Never Summer SL is the all mountain freestyle board. It is such an easy and fun board to ride especially now it features rocker and camber technology. It is one of those snowboards which have decided to embrace the move towards rocker technology early on.

The board is not a true twin tip but it is no far off. The great pop provided by the rocker and camber technology make this board nimble and very comfortable in the park. It is more than capable of hitting big jumps and any number of other features. It is perhaps a little on the stiff side for jibbing especially compared to many modern jib sticks which are so soft and flexible that they are barely ridable at any speed.

By riding a decent sized SL you have a true all mountain board that can charge hills at speed and float over the powder. Again it will never do as well in the powder as a true powder board like the Never Summer Titan, but it is pretty good for those of us who are not often in deep powder.

Aesthetically the board is beautiful. You can see all the craftsmanship that has gone into it. The graphics are beautiful and the lumo green base will make you look pretty cool on piste too. It is a win win - performance and looks. Check out the Never Summer SL.
