It's a Dude Thing
Testosterone on wheels. That's the new Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. Men across the nation will soon be dreaming of and drooling over this beautiful beast of a truck. With a focus on off-road performance, Ford let their Special Vehicle Team (SVT) color outside of the lines with this one. The body style is overtly rugged and strong. The grill is missing the traditional blue oval. Instead, simple block letters spell out FORD so there is no question about the bloodline. The grill also hides marker lamps which become visible when turned on. Even the Jurasic style name Raptor conveys that this machine was designed to survive in the wildest conditions.
Lots of Guts and Glory.
During development, Ford tested fifty prototype engines at their dynamo-meter lab then ran the Raptor on a 62-mile durability loop in the extreme desert conditions of Borrego Springs, CA. It outperformed all expectations reaching over 85 mph on dirt trails, speeds previously reserved for smaller vehicles.
The F-150 SVT Raptor will be launched with a 5.4-liter Triton V-8 engine with 310 horsepower. A 6.2-liter V-8 engine producing 400-hp and 400ft-lbs. of Torque will be available shortly thereafter. A new open-valve fuel injection system provides better fuel economy, lower emissions and more horsepower allowing it to tow the heaviest of loads.
The entire front suspension has been redesigned and includes a seven-inch wider track. Internal bypass shocks (Fox Racing Shox) are now a standard feature to smooth out the ride in rough terrain and make the on-road ride incredibly comfortable. AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) is included which provides vehicle roll resistance when the vehicle senses a significant loss of traction. As well, the Raptor offers Hill Descent Control- allowing the driver to control the descent speed without applying the brakes. Off-road enthusiasts will also appreciate the choice between two off-road settings the "Sport" mode and "Full Off-road" mode.

To complete the full off-road, racing experience the F-150 SVT Raptor interior can be tricked out to include a moulton orange instrument panel, leather seats and mesh trim-- smokin hot! With all the bells and whistles, amazing technology and one-of-a-kind features the Raptor easily competes with trucks in the 50K price range. Ford is offering the F-150 SVT Raptor starting at $38,995.
