Are you in the marketing for a good running shoe? Are you aware of the type of terrain that you will be running on long-term? If so, you may be just in the market

Why do you want a trail running shoe?

If you are thinking about a trail running shoe, it’s important to think about what specific terrain you will be on in order to ensure this is a good move. A common problem that many people run into is assuming they new a trail running shoe simply because they – on occasion – end up on dirt or gravel. In reality, if you are day after day typically running on paved streets, that is not a cause for trail running shoes, and you don’t want to unnecessarily purchase trail runners when road running shoes may be best for you.

What are some of the downsides of trail runners?

The main issue with trail running shoes – and the reason that they are so heavily encouraged for individuals who are indeed dealing with treacherous terrain, is that trail running shoes are much heavier than road running shoes. Although it may seem difficult to understand why anyone would willingly choose a heavier running shoe when they could use lighter ones, indeed there are some very good reasons for why people regularly choose trail runners over road runners shoes.

What is the number on mistake for choosing trail runners when you really need road running shoes?

Another issue is that often people end up choosing trail running shoes because they like the color of a trail running shoe. This is particularly common with men, who often favor darker colored running shoes. Since trail running shoes must be built to take in the mud and dirt and not immediately show their dirt – they are often produced in darker colors. However, this often leads individuals to choose trail running shoes over road running shoes simply because of the color options. You want to be careful of this, however, as choosing a trail running shoe if indeed you only need road running shoes is not a good move. If you are going to be running on paved streets, the weight of a trail running can indeed hinder your training. Running with a heavier shoe is different for your leg muscles, and will transform the way that you run and the types of focus that your leg muscles will have and will develop when running. If you don’t need this extra weight – this is not a good move.
