New Beginnings
65
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
This is from the very beginning. There was nothing but God that existed before this time. God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Each new day brings a new beginning. God creates something else at each beginning. We tend to forget that God is the creator of all things. We look at Jesus as being the Son of God, and we are right to do so, but we also need to realize that God created everything.
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Here we see another new beginning. God has repented that He even made man. He is going to destroy man from the face of the earth. Their wickedness has gotten so bad that they never had a good thought at all. Continually evil means never ever doing anything good.
Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
It is a new beginning for man. Here God has called Noah out of all that are alive and is going to save mankind through him. This is a brand new beginning for all mankind.
Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
This shows another new beginning. God has called Abram to come out from among his people and go to a land that God will show him. Abram heeded the call of God and went where God showed him to go. God then made a promise to Abram that He would make a great nation through the seed of Abram.
Gen 46:2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
Gen 46:3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
Here we see the new beginning for Jacob. God has called Jacob to go to Egypt. God will make a great nation of Jacob in the land of Egypt. There are many other new beginnings throughout the Old Testament but we're going to jump into the New Testament.
Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
This is the greatest beginning of all. The declaration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. This man Jesus was born of a virgin. Imagine a virgin conceiving a child but never being touched by a man. Those that refuse to believe this is possible with God are very deceived. For God framed the worlds from nothing (Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.) This man Jesus was to go about doing good all the time. Some say He wasn't really the Son of God. This man Jesus went on to die for the sins of the world so that all who will believe might not perish but have everlasting life (Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. )
There is one more beginning that we have yet to see. The day is coming and in my opinion is very close that the church will be called out of the world. We will go to be with the Lord forever. This is the beginning of the last of the new beginnings. The earth will pass away and the heavens will pass away. Jesus will reign over all things and we will reign with Him. We must be ready to go when the Lord calls us. We must have our lamps trimmed and ready. We are the light of the world and we need to allow our light to shine or it is of no use to anyone. The coming of the Lord is a scary thought for those that are not saved by the blood of Jesus. Let us pray for the lost and witness to them the love of Jesus Christ before it is too late.
Prayer
Father in heaven we thank you for all things that you have given us. We praise you for all creation. We especially thank you Father for new beginnings. Without them we would all be lost and there would be no hope for anyone. We pray that the lost that read this or hear it would have conviction put upon their hearts that they might know you as their Saviour. In Jesus mighty and precious name, AMEN!!!!!
