Layout for the new Bunker Hills Park course.
Layout for the new Bunker Hills Park course.

I have been talking to the director of Parks for Anoka county, and the landscape Architect for the county. The word is the Bunker Hills DGC work will begin this month and be open in early to mid Sept. The layout is 18 holes par 60. longest hole 850ft. 4 par 4's, one par 5, rest par 3's. The location is the first left in the park coming in from the Bunker Lake blvd side. This is the course layout.

Update on Course

I talked to the course designer yesterday, he said that it is only going to be 9 holes to start. It's a money issue. It's going to be the first 9. Still some good challenging holes and some long holes. It will still be a top level 9 hole course.

Update as of Sept. 18, the course will be open to play 2 weeks from today, Oct. 2.

Update as of Oct. 3.  I played to course today, it is a decent set up for a 9 hole, I wish it was 18.  It is not hard but has some interesting holes.  Number 8 is really strange, it is basically a horseshoe, if you tomahawk from the tee box to the right, you can get to the basket, if not you go down 200 feet, turn right around a corner, then back 200 feet to the basket.  Very well marked with the nicest signs you will ever see.

Other things at Bunker Hills Park

Bunker Beach Water Park features four water slides, a zero-entry pool with a water play structure, a creative sand play area, and largest wave pool in Minnesota. Large open areas for sunning and relaxing also in the water park. Concessions and changing rooms also available.

Bunker Hills campground was completely redeveloped in 1998. The campground now offers 44 secluded and shaded sites, ranging from the rustic to modern with water and electrical hookups, and one group site that can accommodate up to 30 people, using tents, with water and electricity hook-ups. Some sites are perfect for large family gatherings.

Bunker Hills Riding stables You can ride horses at the stables.

There is also a championship golf course, an executive golf course and an excellent restaurant available in the park.
