I Like the New Google Chrome Browser!

My Experience
I downloaded Goggle’s new browser on its second day out of the box. I am impressed with its speed and it's ability to keep a lot of windows open without crashing.
It already does about 90 percent of what my Firefox browser does. I'll either have to switch to Firefox for those tasks or learn how to work around them in Chrome.
Either way, I find that I am already clicking on the Google browser icon as a matter of habit when I start up my computer. I guess that’s what they want.
The Java applications definitely run faster.
I have run into a couple of problems trying to copy text formatting from the articles that I am writing on Wordpress or on Blogger. I usually have to go back to Internet Explorer of Firefox 3 to get anything close to a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get.) rendition.
It takes a while to get used to the browser and search windows being combined.
The thing that has been very useful to me is the history feature that allows you to look at the last 30 or so pages that you last visited. You can find that page that you accidentally closed and couldn’t find it again with other browsers.
The Bookmarks Bar allows you to put your favorite programs into easy to access folders that are always available at the top of the window.
Google has said that they are committed to keep Chrome open source. Google states, “We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox, among others - and in that spirit, we are making all of our code open source as well. We hope to collaborate with the entire community to help drive the web forward.”
Of all the “iffy” Beta software releases that I have come across over the years; this is definitely not “iffy”. It’s a good one.
Chrome is not ready for Mac or Linux applications, which I’m sure is a bummer for a lot of people. That should be corrected in short order.
Give it a try and see what you think!

I'm not quite ready to leave Firefox for GC. There have to be some bugs that have to be fixed in the short term. I'm glad they are making it open sourced. That seems to help it evolve into a program that people actually like and use.
