Attention all you criminals...If you want to take a INNOCENT life then go to New Jersey because they will let you live. I know this is a VERY controversial subject, and my view are just my views, and are not the last word on this subject. I happen to value human life, INNOCENT human life. The person minding their own business walking down the street, working at their job, sitting in their living room even, INNOCENT like that.

For those of you who are biblical, and I won;t dive deeply into my beliefs or dis-beliefs, here is the biblical defintion of what we've all heard before...An eye for an eye.The phrase "an eye for an eye", (Hebrew: עין תחת עין‎) is a quotation from Exodus 21:23-27 in which a person who has taken the eye of another in a fight is instructed to give his own eye in compensation. At the root of the non-Biblical form of this principle is the belief that one of the purposes of the law is to provide equitable retaliation for an offended party.

Now this is of course is a interpretation, and we all look at things from different points of view. So my interpretation of this is what you have done to another shall be done unto you. No where in this scripture does it mention about the act of retribution being inhumane, or that those seeking retribution are "no better than the actor". In my opinion New jersey might as well hand out guns to everybody and say "go at it", well lock you up forever, big deal.

What does this say to the victims of the victims. Yes, I saud victims because something in this case someone, has been wrongfully taken from them. Unlike having a purse or your car stolen, you cannt get back a loved one who has had their life taken viciously by someone. Why do we as a society handle murderers with kid gloves, then turn around and talk about how crime is a problem? I remember as a little girl growing up my mother telling me to not touch that or I'll smack your fingers. Once I got my fingers smacked I remembered, and the next time I thought about touching that, I thought twice and didn't do it. Do you think if we had a simple law that states if you are convicted of a crime resulting in a death, and the crime was intentional(robbery, shooting, etc) where the actor used a deadly weapon you WILL be put to death, do you think it would make some people think twice? Stating something that clearly, leaving out the words "might" or "could" would hopefully make someone with atleast 2 firing brain cells think about it.

Think of the innocent children shot and killed in drive by shootings almost everyday. My kids...your kids. As a parent would you be alright with the person who killed your child while they were outside playing getting involuntary manslaughter, or life in prison? The key word in that statement is "LIFE", they still have one. They can laugh, walk, talk, interact, and best of all they get visits from their loved ones. The only visit you get is the headstone of your child or loved one, sounds fair and good right?

Lets look at some statistics regarding cost for a person serving life in prison. Statistics from a Pennsylvania Prison state in general it costs $11,000 a year to provide clothing, food, heat, and medical care per inmate. So lets do some math, a 35 year old robs the convenience store and kills the clerk, gets convicted and goes to jail for life. Average life expectancy for a healthy adult male is between 72 and 78 years old. Lets say the actor lives to the age of 75. it would have cost the TAXPAYERS $440,000 dollars!

So lets recap for a moment. You lost your child in a drive by shooting, and your retribution is to help pay $440,000 to keep this person alive? Makes sense to me...Hey maybe when someone breaks into your house and pulls a home invasion we should help them carry all the valuables out to their car? Why not, seems the right thing to do right?

As a country, we need to stop bending to the special interest groups, doing something because it will get me re-elected, and start thinking a little bit. if we don't want to do anything harsh about violent crime, then we should stop complaining about it. Not having the death penalty as a option is a green lite for anyone who always wanted to try something but didn't want to receive death if they got caught doing it. I read something about daily life in prison and I believe it said..hey man lifes pretty good, I get 3 hots and a cot...
