New MicroBlog Plurk is on Rocket Fuel

The microblog (lifestreamer, miniblog, etc, whatever your preference) universe adds a new rising star called Plurk. Take a look at their site and you'll join me in wondering if the illiteration with the word "quirk" is on purpose. Their unique visitor count exploded in June, allowing them to grab a spot for the first time in the Buzzmarker.com 25 rankings.

With a tag line "your life, on the line" (which makes sense) and a logo with what appears to be a headless dog (toldya they were quirky) -- there's none other like Plurk. They throw the word karma around a lot, and they also don't mind if you use their name as a verb ("I plurked it"), which of course worked out fine for Google.

Keep your eye on the impending battle in the microblog space with Twitter, Friendfeed and the newest kid in town -- Plurk.
