Amisha was born on June 9th 1976 in Mumbai. She was an ace academician in Cathedral and John Connon School and after completing her high school in India, she headed to graduate in Economics from the Tufts University in Boston, where she won a gold medal.

Amisha was spotted by Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and he approached her for ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’. Amisha’s debut movie became a superhit which was followed by ‘Gadar’ which became a blockbuster as well thus.

Later movies, however; failed to pull the crowds and after a series of flops Amisha had some luck with films like ‘Humraaz’, ‘Mangal Pandey’. She also had a small role in the superhit film "Bhool Bhulaiya"

Looking at todays trend, perhaps she has understood that she could only compete with new generation actresses, if she start showing her sexy figure. That may be the other reason that she got the chance to adorn the cover page of Maxim also.
