A Finnish businessman said to have plans to build a copy of the Titanic on land that will consist of hotels and restaurants. The ambition is to attract tourists to northern Finland.
"In Europe everyone knows about the Titanic. But there are no tourist attractions in Oulu (northern Finland) and I believe this can attract tourists, "said Toivo Sukari.

Sukari operates in the current situation a furniture chain and has previously built a gigantic shopping mall in northern Finland. Titanic-copy, which is expected to be 269 meters long and 28 meters wide, should be located next to a new shopping center.
The cost for building the copy is estimated at between 30-40 million EUR.
