Native One Of A Kind Fiery Red Tree

Pohutukawa Native Tree Of New Zealand
The New Zealand Pohutukawa
( pronounced> Paw-who-tu-ka-wa)
The Fiery Red Flowering Pohutukawa Tree of New Zealand ,also known as the Christmas Tree ,as it breaks forth in a brilliant display of fire red flowers throughout the Christmas period ,has always been one of my favourite trees. Stunning and beautiful.!!
I have quite a few favourite flowers which always seem to evoke all kinds of happy ,peaceful moments, but I always seem to come back to the Pohutukawa flower. My dad was the real gardener in our family when I was growing up and he made it all look so simple and effortless. The rest of us pottered around or started our flowerbeds with a hiss and a roar ,only to end up losing interest along the way.
The NZ Pohutukawa is also known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree since its flowers bloom prolifically in December.

Pretty flower, pretty tree. I'm not big on flowers myself, Eaglekiwi, but I do love red roses, tulips and lilacs. My cousin has been a florist all his life and still operates his Cascade Florist shop in Hartsdale, N.Y. But the Powhutukawa is new to me.
Glad to have shared something new with you then ,wished I could say I had green fingers too ,I dont ,Im more likely to be under that tree with a good book. Thankyou for your comments.
