New YouTube Player Creates More Options
53
YouTube has added another great feature to its video. Any YouTube video you embed will include “related videos” sections, similar to the search results you get in Amazon “related items”. Any video you watch in blogs or sites, when you move the mouse over the video you will see the related videos section at the bottom of the video window. You won’t see this in YouTube, only in blogs and sites. Wonder why it doesn’t show, but it shows related videos in a separate column there.
If you are watching “Pink Floyd” video, it will give related videos of Pink Floyd songs. This will make it more addictive, but it will be good for fans.
You don’t have to go to YouTube Videos to get the embed code, just click “the menu” button, you will see “link” and “embed” code you can copy and paste it at any site you like. Also, you can rate the video in the site itself, not necessary to go to the YouTube site to rank the videos. There are arrows in the video, which lets you to skip the video you are watching and make it move to the next or the previous videos in the list.
This will aid YouTube immensely, which is going to add advertising to its videos soon. Also, this new feature will help YouTube grow with more viewers and watching more videos.
Metacafe also has this feature for a while, but it opens videos in a new window, not the player itself like in YouTube.
You can try this out with the video posted here, a trailer of “Mistress of Spices”. Hit the Play button and then you can see all the above details that are discussed here.

Oh, my this is great! Another feature that will come in handy is, if they can make it collapsible, then it will not take up so much space on the hub.
