The New iPod Nano

The new iPod nano looks A LOT like the first 2 generations. The third generation was clearly the dark sheep with regards to the design and I have to admit . The new iPod Nano combines the form factor of the first and second generation Nanos with the high resolution screen of the third generation. The new Nano is the “thinnest iPod ever” evidently surpassing the iPod Touch in thinness. The new iPod Nano’s design is no longer similar to the 3rd Generation model. It’s actually reminicient of the 2nd Generation model but definitely slimmer and packed with more features.

The new iPod nano incorporates Apple’s breakthrough Genius technology which automatically creates playlists from songs in your music library that go great together, with just one click. The new iPod nano also features a refined user interface, a high resolution portrait display and a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow? when rotated and automatically goes into Shuffle™ mode when lightly shaken. The new iPod nano has the ability to increase its font size from Standard Large makes the text roughly as big as the iPod classic.

The new iPod Nano also includes an iPhone-like headphone set which comes with a new clicker, volume control, and microphone. The clicker allows you to double-click to skip to the next song, press once to pause and three times to go to the previous song. The new iPod Nano has a curved aluminum design. Apple says it is the thinnest Nano yet. The new iPod Nano comes with a 8 GB or a 16 GB, Bigger than the iPod Nano 3rd gen. Its display has a resolution of 320 by 240 and its display is 2-inch (diagonal) liquid crystal display with blue-white LED backlight.

The new iPod nano works with the new iTunes 8 Genius feature, allowing customers to automatically create playlists while on-the-go with their iPod nano. Users can preview the playlist Genius creates, refresh the list to choose different songs and save Genius playlists to enjoy again later.

The new iPod Nano Chromatic is priced at between $149-$199, depending on its color. The new iPod nano gives you 8GB or 16GB of skip-free flash memory for $149 or $199, respectively?twice as much as last year?s nano at the same prices. Apple has also made each model available in nine different colors: black, silver, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The new iPod nano gives users up to 24 hours of music playback or four hours of video playback.

The new models would come with a new line of headphones that will allow users to control the player right off the cord. The new iPod Nano is also about 0.5 ounce lighter than its predecessor. The latest version also ushers in brighter, more vivid case colors--a departure from the muted tones of the previous generation. The new iPod nano has neat little enhancements like an accelerometer sensor and a refreshed user interface with cover flow. You can do neat things like shaking the player for shuffle.

The new iPod nano’s most obvious change from the previous model is the Return Of Tall. At 3.6 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide, and just 0.24 inches thick, the new nano recalls the days of the first- and second-generation models, although it?s slightly taller, narrower, and thinner than those models. The new iPod nano features the 30-pin iPod dock connector allowing it to work effortlessly with an incredible range of third-party products, from home stereo speakers to cars featuring iPod integration. There are now more than 3,000 accessories available for the iPod. The new iPod nano also features a refined user interface, a high resolution portrait display and a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow when rotated and automatically goes into Shuffle mode when lightly shaken.

The newest addition to the line, the iPod touch, is closely modeled on the popular iPhone™, and features the same touch-sensitive widescreen display. And it's built-in accelerometer can make things move on its screen just by tipping the player. If you're going for the "wow" factor, the iPod touch may be the best choice for you.

Apple iPod Nano 4G video review from Stuff.tv

Of all the gadgets invented to make life more fun, the iPod has to be one of the coolest. Boasting elegant styling and an intuitive interface, Apple's iPod classic and the other members of the iPod family are a delight to use. An iPod can be your portable jukebox, video player, movie theater, digital photo album, and hand-held game console all in one. What's more, its user-friendly companion program, iTunes, seamlessly works with your iPod.
