Ask Susan Peters How did Newman's Own Organic Advanced Dog Formula Rate in the Dog Food Ratings?

I feel like the product did pretty well. There is some soy listed in the ingredients. I am sorry to see that. The meat used to make this product is not from by-products so there should not be any dead pets in the make up of this food. I noticed there is not any animal digest listed. I would like to see the soy go away.

ML,

I haven't gotten to the canned food as of yet. I'll try to get those reviews posted after this weekend. Your dog is losing weight because corn is not included in this meal. Corn is so bad for our pets! I would have liked to see this product score a 10. The use of soy in these foods is what made them score an 8.

My dog loves this food, has been eating it for a couple of months and he looks great, has lost a little weight and his coat looks fantastic, but the store near us is now no longer carrying anything but the horrible commercial stuff since the "scare" is now over so I'm looking at having to get it delivered :(

Jill,

I am glad to have your thoughts on this food. You are wrong about the "scare" being over, more pet food was recalled just this week.

I have been feeding my dog this for a month... i got him and he was bone thin .. the people who had him for the first two years of his life.. fed him people food.. and he was horrible malnutrioned. Newmans hard food is the only food he will touch. They claim on Newmans website that according to vets.. there is no proven reasoning that Soy is bad for dogs or causes bloat. Can any one direct me to a authoratitive sight that claims otherwise?

Regina,

http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&mor is a great source of information for the Animal Protection Institue.

Here's a quote from the API "Like many other pet food ingredients, soy is virtually unusable by an animal's body..." in the API article The Trush About Commercial Pet Food @ http://www.preciouspets.org/truth.htm

Good luck,

Susan
