The Mall of America, located in Bloomington, Minnesota, was built about 15 years ago. It cost roughly $650 million dollars to build, but it has an average annual return of $1.8 billion to the state of Minnesota. Depending on the season, 11,000 to 13,000 people are employed as the Mall of America. Boasting an impressive 4.2 million square feet, this behemoth building offers more than 520 stores, and 86 places to eat. (If you were to spend just ten minutes in each store, it would take you over 86 hours to complete your tour!) It has become an attraction that brings visitors of all ages from around the world for shopping, sightseeing, and yes, even roller coaster riding.
“Nickelodeon Universe” is the theme park located inside the Mall of America. It is the largest indoor family theme park in America. There are 30 rides to choose from, the latest being “SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge.” Also included are Avatar Airbender, Splat-O-Sphere, Circulo Cielo, Simply Odd Coaster, Log Chute, Crazy Cars, and many more.
For the little tykes, there are numerous kiddie rides including Back at the Barnyard Hayride, Balloon Race, Big Rigs, Blue's Skidoo, Carousel, Diego's Rescue Rider, La Adventura de Azul, Pineapple Popper, Rugrats Reptarmobiles, Swiper's Sweeper and Wonder Pets Flyboat.
Admission ranges from $10 to $30 to ride the rides, depending on which package you choose. There are even some packages that also include admission to other attractions within the mall, such as the Aquarium. Don’t worry, there isn’t a big scary guy standing at the door that will refuse you entry if you don’t have your ticket! Feel free to walk around as much as you like! There is even a Nickelodeon Universe retail store inside where you can purchase all your souvenirs!
If you get hungry, there are nine different places to eat inside Nickelodeon Universe, or simply climb the stairs to the food court on the third floor, where you will find everything from Famous Dave’s to McDonald’s, and everything in between.

I knew it was big but I didn't know it was the largest either until I did a bit of research on it! Funny thing is it's not as loud as you would think it should be and I'm not really sure why.
The Mall of America is like a city, is it not? I like the idea of the Aquarium. An old strip center here had the 7 Wonders of the World in the parking lot and another such center had a large Aquarium sunk into the ground at one end, with a rail around it. I remember feeding the fish broken cones from ice cream.
At last, I know where I belong!
Patty - The Mall of America is large, I will give it that, however it is not as large as a city. It is three full floors plus two partial floors of shopping, sight seeing, dining, and other such amusement. The Aquarium is really interesting, and you can do everything from simply walking through the huge glass tunnel to swimming with the fishies. Fair warning - they don't tell you this when you walk in - the tunnel is being video taped and the public has access to the footage as it is being filmed via a computer in the main area. If someone were so inclined he/she could follow a single person's trek through the entire aquarium, with the person finally going off screen just moments before walking into the room where the computer is located. Exceedingly creepy, and dangerous imho. Long story short, MOA is cool, for a while, but eventually, it's just another damned mall.

I didn't know that the largest indoor family theme park in America was in Minnesota, and it sounds like a very good deal for the prices. Thanks for the discovery :)
