Nicotine is a chemical substance found in small amount in leaves, roots and seeds of the tobacco plant. It is one of the few natural liquid alkaloids.



The content of nicotine in tobacco can vary from 1 to 5 percent. The strength of the cigarette depends on its nicotine content, it is the addictive substance in tobacco. Smoking is the main cause of lung and one of the cause of heart attack(someone that smokes has a 300% probability of heart attack). Smokers takes in about 0.05 milligram to 2 milligram of nicotine per cigarette. It is quickly absorbed into the smoker's blood and the nicotine reaches the brain within 8 seconds after inhalation. The child of a pregnant woman who smokes is born smaller and with a predisposition to asthma. Each cigarette smoked eliminates 25 mg. of Vitamin C from your body.

Pure nicotine is extremely poisonous.
