A lot of people don’t have a good idea of what Nigeria is like. I’ve tried as much as I can to convey the reality of what my country is all about, with little success. A lot of people still think Nigeria is a land of beastly people. So I sort of like decided that one of the best ways to show how progressive Nigeria is, as a country is to show some of the top Nigerian music videos. I’ll just put ‘em all here, and let them sorta like, speak for themselves. These here are some of the music videos I like; videos which I feel properly depict the reality of what we like to call Naija! I selected them based on the criteria of Directing, Cinematography, Creativity, Uniqueness, and just how the video makes you generally feel about the song. This is a true treat. Impossible to listen to all of them and needless to say I like some more than others. But they are great.
I confess I don't know anything about music (rock? pop? whatever) N O t h I n G. But you make me listen to something and I can tell you I LIKE IT or I don't.
Most of this music I love.
OK. A couple that I liked more so far. FIRE IN THE MOUNTAIN. And SHEKPERE, particularly the song that comes after the white car appears. It sounds like too short? Can you find it in its complete version? I just love it.
