Night Cap -Sleepless

Sleep just doesn't want to come to me tonight...A oneway street that leads to a dead-end..as I toss and turn...My mind wondering, and my thoughts about how to get rid of this deamon tonight?
So Hubpages come to mind...a place to let go, a place to reveal, a place to un-load...
I can't quite figure what is bothering me, I am tired, worked hard today, played hard also, but my eyes won't close and my body tosses and turns, my arm falls alseep, first on my right side, then over to my left side, now on my back...I hear my daughter sleeping, her breaths nice and slow and her body nice and warm...I cuddle to her, but it does not help me find my slumber...it just won't come...
I could go hide all the eggs we colored and the plastic ones we filled with candies and coins? I could go hide the baskets? But everyone is sleeping and it is dark and still..and that's the Easter Bunnies job. He does exist??? right??? Has never failed me yet...I know he will get it done...must not disappoint...broken promises hurt...
Breakfast is all planned, I wonder if the candy I ate ,while making the baskets are keeping the sandman away? I wonder why my mom cried today whilst we were dying the eggs? Why she kept saying " I didn't do enough"...the forlorn look in her eyes, the giant Easter bunny my grandson saw riding a motorcycle today, maybe I am dreaming? maybe it is my age ? Age can really make you feel lost and give you sleepless nights...
Normally sleep comes easily to me, I can be asleep before the timed t.v. goes off, even before the cat finds me already in bed, but not tonight...tonight is already early morning and here I am typing on my keyboard wanting to know why I am awake...
Maybe it's cause my family leaves at noon tomorrow to go skiing and it worries me, or the fact that then I will be here alone again and I so love the hustle bustle of the children...
...maybe it's...oh who knows what it is....does it really matter...what is sleep anyway...a time for your body to rest, your mind to withdraw but your brain keeps going or you would not even wake up, but I am awake, very much awake and I want to sleep, I need to sleep or I will be crabby in the morning, I may even burn the pancakes, spill the syrup or forget the coffee grounds..shall I try again or just wait and see if the Easter bunnie shows up?

I know what you mean about sleepless nights...I had one of those last night too. I hope you enjoy your day with the family. You worry about them because you are such a good Mom/Grandma and thats maybe what keeps you up. ((HUGS))

This could be my hub now as I've just been to an Easter party - yeah, an excuse to have ourselves drunk (but I did not!) so now I can't sleep either.

G-Ma- they are sugared up, and I got to take them to the park now, I might do some wacky stuff tonight, when they wear out, no church for me, but we're hopin' for a good dinner, if momma here gets in a better mood, otherwise I'll be cookin' spaghetti! Work is on the horizon, but out of mind for now, but the phone calls will start this evening. Hugs.
Sleepless, Eventhough I didn't have an easterparty, at least I didn't have the easterparty I had planned a few weeks ago. Maybe that's my reason for being sleepless:)But a had a great easterdinner today with all the elderly with dementia:D They are all sound asleep now... there's just me here awake:)

Getting here a bit late, so nice to know you caught up on your rest and had a Happy Easter with your family. Hope you didn't burn the pancakes! Ha!
Afraid aging is part of the problem causing sleeplessness. Took a continuing education course on that once (for my RN degree) not that it helps you any to know that. We're in the same boat, G-Ma!
At least we have hubpages to keep us amused. Right?

Gma, my mother and great aunt used to complain about insomnia and, back then, I just could not understand the concept. I thought, if you're tired, then sleep should just come. Well, now I understand. Hope you don't suffer from this insomnia too much. It can cause such fatigue.
Oh Thanks my dear...but I am fine it was just all the excitment and candy I think....I sleep very well...and feel sad for those that don't...I have a girlfriend that can be up for days with only a few hours sleep...It seems dangerous to me...G-Ma :O) Hugs
