Night sweats are the most common symptoms that can affect someone who goes through menopause. This is also a symptom that can affect a woman going through premenopause. Such symptoms can continue up to five to ten years and leaves you frustrated over your mind and body. Due to these distressing problems, many women have tried several medical methods. However, effective treatment has become hard to come by as many contemporary medications have failed during the treatment process. Some of them can even bring you more side effects, and these are things that no one really wants to experience.

Night sweats causes are common among women going through the same phase. Many find their beddings and nightclothes drenched in sweat at night. They find the need to frequently change their nightclothes and beddings as a result of profuse sweating, which is terribly frustrating for those who need a restful sleep. Menopause is a phase that can become quite uncomfortable especially when several hormonal changes occur all at the same time. These drastic hormonal changes can bring about symptoms such as night sweats and insomnia. During this period, the hypothalamus, a gland in our brain that is highly responsible for maintaining our body temperature, undergoes certain changes. These changes cause the hypothalamus to stimulate the production of an excess amount of body heat which is manifested as night sweats.

In this particular scenario, one hormone - estrogen - is thought to be responsible for the failure of the hypothalamus. Due to the low levels of estrogen in the body, menopause-related worries commence, resulting in night sweats. Studies have also shown that in some cases, a malfunctioning hypothalamus can release chemicals to the blood vessels, leading the way to the dilation of these vessels to release heat. Night sweats are also occasionally accompanied by shivering.
