Nike + IPOD A User's Opinion

Last year we got an IPOD Nano. Not being overly burdened with wordly wealth, the only way that we could get it was because my husband signed up for a checking account with some bank that was offering the Nano as an incentive to bank with them. To be honest, I never even used it.

For my birthday this year, my husband got me Nike+ to go with the Nano. Plus, he got me the Nike+ compatible shoes. I have absolutely loved using it. I love that it tracks my time distance, calories burned, and the speed at which I'm running.

There was definitely a learning curve for me as I figured out how to use it. First, I had to callibrate it. I had no idea how far 400 meters was, so I tried several times and it kept saying that my distance did not match the distance I had chosen. So, I chose to callibrate it to .25 miles. The first time I ran too far and it said the distance didn't match. I finally figured out that to callibrate it, you have to run the EXACT distance.

I really like the Nike+ website if I don't go anywhere other than where my own personal runs are stored. If I try to naviagte anywhere else, I'm immediately lost. Granted, I am not the most tech savy person, but I can navigate most websites with ease. A lot of the features, I don't even understand, so that is a negative for me.

The sensor battery is not replacable, and I had to buy a whole new sensor for $30 2 months after I got the original kit. I have never worn my shoes when I wasn't running, so maybe I just got a bad sensor. I hope that this new sensor will last a little longer.

When all is said and done. I love Nike+. I love the voice prompts and I would miss it immensely if I ran without it. It is a great motivator for me, and I think it is worth the money.

The two things that I would change are a longer battery life in the sensor, and a website that is more user friendly.
