Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 hunting binoculars review
72All about hunting binoculars
Hunting binoculars need to have four specific qualities that will make the hunting a joy. These specifications in no order of importance are the
Magnification of 8 or 10
Objective lens diameter of 42 or 50
Fully coated lenses
Small field of view
Ruggedness
Magnification of 8 or 10 is OK so that you can easily get a good view of the prey and higher power means smaller field of view. But more than 8 or 10 the object clarity is not there hence it is no fun to have more magnification power.
The bigger the diameter of the lens the more light will come making the object very sharp and clear however that said it is not possible to have that bigger diameter as that will mean very heavy binoculars. The size 42 or 50 mm is very good.
The coated lens will mean light coming through the lenses to you eye and will mean more clarity.
In view of the use of the binoculars for hunting it is very important to make sure that you have the binoculars which are waterproof as well as they have good exterior so that you can easily carry them into the public or private land where you are trying to get a good view of the hunt and then make sure that you go for the kill.

Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 hunting binoculars
I saw this piece being mentioned in one of the blogs that I stumbled across about outdoor lie and hence my review of the Nikon ATB hunting binoculars.
All terrain binoculars
After the all terrain bikes which are manufactured to suit all sorts of terrains these ATB binos are also manufactured to suit all sorts of terrains and that means that these binoculars have features which will be make sure that whether it is water, dirt, grime or dust the binoculars will be safe. They are built to be rugged and very sturdy.
Pros and Cons
Positives
Ultra Rugged and a good rubber armored design . Roof prism design
The lenses are multicoated. This will mean brighter image
These are water-proof as well as fog-proof.
FOV is 340 feet
These have extended eye relief and hence work well with glasses
For the price these are much better than the same specification as that of higher end Leica.
Very good to use even in the dawn and dusk conditions.
Negatives
The negatives are that these have lens cap do not fit properly and will loosen gradually with time. The other thing to remember is that these have the optics which is not comparable toe the Leica and the Opticrons of the world.
If you have the money then you should go in for the Leica or the Opticron. Those are simply the best when it comes to birding binoculars.
Make sure that you check the quality of the piece of binoculars that you buying by visiting a local shop nearby as not all pieces are the same. These are very lightweight and will not be useful to many if they want some thing heavier for your use.

I would agree, I have used my Nikon 8x42 and 10x42 monarch Binoculars for all of my hunting trips. The ruggedness and quality of the 8x42, 10x42, and 12x42 Monarch is exceptional.
