Nitric Oxide is a by product of an amino acid called L-arginine. This amino acid comes from some nuts and red meat. L-arginine is best known for its cardiovascular benefits. L-arginine is converted to nitric oxide which enters the walls of our arteries causing the blood vessels to relax. This reduces stress on the heart and improves circulation. L-arginine is the body's major source for nitric oxide synthesis. Without nitric oxide, human life would not be possible. L-arginine also reduces blood viscosity. Scientific studies have shown that l-arginine significantly reduces blood pressure levels.

This is very important for people with diabetes. It has been found the people with diabetes have two to three times higher chance of getting heart disease. On of the main reseans is that the diabetic stress causes the arteries to contract, resulting in more nitric oxide needed to relax the vessels. This constant contraction can result in the hardening of the arteries and major plaque build up.

It has been found that people with diabetes have a lower level of nitric oxide in their body. No one is sure why this is but it may be from the added diabetic stress or the contracting of the arteries

An important note to remember is that just taking a l-arginine supplement may not always help. Another amino acid need to assist l-arginine is l-citruline. L-citruline helps the nitric oxide last longer in the blood stream. With out l-citruline the nitric oxide is very short lived and thus not reaching all parts of the circulatory system.

If you have heart disease, diabetes or a family history of either of these disease, a regimene of l-arginine and l-citruline is a great precaution. It may just save your life.

Dr Joe Predergast is an endocrinologist that has spent his life researching and studying what l-arginine can do for diabetics. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women; diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death. The pharmaceutical industry continue to keep adding products to reduce this rate but still has not done so, but they sure keep increasing their sales.

I write a blog called Diabetic Help where I talk about my success controlling my diabetes with exercise, proper eating and a strong antioxidant. I have been testing MLM product for over a year trying to find the best one.

So why can't the government and medical groups endorse these products and stop providing everyone with medications with terrible side effects. Many are skeptical of Multi Level Marketing products but I will assure you that I have found results and millions of others have too.
