Nitric Oxide reactors are a type of sports nutrition or supplement that are designed for hemodilation (widening of the arteries). Basically high doses of the amino acid arginine leads to a reaction that causes the release of nitric oxide into the bloodstream to increase, which again leads to vasodilation or hemodilation (widening of the arteries). This means that more blood can flow trough your muscles delivering more oxygen and nutrients and make your muscles look fuller and harder. Nitric Oxide is a colorless gas consisting of Nitrogen and Oxygen molecules. Some nitric oxide is released for a brief period each and every time a muscle is active. Nitric Oxide reactors extends this period and increases the amount nitric oxide released . Nitric oxide reactors may speed up recovery or give an extra boost while training, however the effects of nitric oxide reactors are short lived and the body soon adjusts to the high levels of arginine and after a short duration of use the amount of nitric oxide into the blodstream is significantly reduced, which of course in turn will cause less hemodilation. Nitric oxide reactors will give you that nice "pumped up" feeling but as mentioned the effects are short lived, and after only a couple of weeks of use most people won't notice the effects anymore.

An interesting fact about the amino acid Arginine, which is the main ingredient in nitric oxide reactors, is that arginine is also one of many ingredients in Viagra probably due to its effect on nitric oxide release and vasodilation. It can be fun to experiment with the effects of nitric oxide reactors but it is not a supplement that should be used for an extended period of time. You should also ask your physician for advice before you start using Nitric Oxide Reactors.
