No, we don't need no traffic lights

You would think that in an intersection as busy as this ....



that there would be traffic lights. But no, some parts of the world does not yet have the urban infrastructure that some of us take for granted. Yet, they manage fine as you can see.

How does the traffic flow switch where one direction stops and another direction starts? Probably they use they own instictive timing where if they have waited long enough, they just go. One brave person who is stopped will decide to step forward. The flowing direction sees this just in time and stops as to not run him/her over. Obviously, when one person steps forward the rest of the crowd follows. And then it repeats like that.

However, no doubt many Westerners used to traffic lights will have trouble crossing streets like these.
