I think, perhaps, Air Force One has a bumper sticker on it that reads, “I love world peace”, and for this President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Perhaps it’s the way he declared he was sending 20,000+ people to Afghanistan to prolong the war that won him the prize. He must have added just the right amount of reluctance to his voice to attract the Norwegians’ attention.

Perhaps because President Obama makes running a two front war look so easy the Norwegians said, “Oh, he simply must get a prize. Why, we hardly notice the blood on his hands!”

Am I bitter? Yes. Americans are dealing with a good many issues here at home that are going unaddressed by this administration, not the least of which is health care. People are losing their jobs and their homes. Civil services are being slashed and social services cut to the bone.

But President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, so all should be right with the world now.

I am just so stunned by this event. This president has done very little for the American people and even less on an international scale. In his defense, there hasn’t been much time for him to accomplish much.

Yet, he won the Peace Prize. Because he intends to get things done.

The Norwegians like his ‘To Do’ list.

Perhaps I should ask my boss if I could get paid for next week. I intend to come into work, so why not just give me the money now.

The Nobel Peace Prize no longer has any true meaning if it can be awarded to a president who continues to send soldiers to die for an abstract and undefined cause. The Nobel Peace Prize no longer has any true meaning if it can be awarded to a president for unfulfilled campaign promises. The Nobel Peace Prize no longer has any true meaning if it can be awarded to a president who ignores the people of his country as he chases after foreign approval.

President Obama was cited for his intentions to establish good relations with Muslim nations. Perhaps President Obama should be trying to establish good relations with the American people first. And stop chasing the limelight and get down to work.
