Nokia 8800 Arte preview

Stylish and Sleek

Better style and design, like the LG Chocolate, certainly makes a best seller in today's mobile phone market. Usability is also crucial when designing mobile phones. Nokia has been known to release mobile phones with great features, design and usability. Releasing their Noka 8800 Arte with great features and creative functions, the Nokia 8800 is apt to sell well in the mobile phone world market. But like other best selling mobile phone, the Nokia 8800 has its own issue.

Design:

Having great looks, features and creative functions is the Nokia 8800 Arte's main attraction.

  • The Noka 8800 Arte is a thin mobile phone in 109 x 45.6 x 14.6 mm dimensions.

  • Weird thing is, having a slim design the Nokia 8800 Arte is quite heavy. Weighing 150g, this issue might be good or bad news, it now depends on preference.

  • The Nokia 8800 Arte has a sleek sliding style when opening its keypads. The Keypads are tiny which might give users a tough time getting used to. Learning the controls are easy though, a Nokia signature

Eye candy features:

Much like the creative functions Sony Ericsson W910i's ShakeMe controls. The Nokia 8800 Arte has its own Tap controls. Tapping the phone will show its elegant clock, not much surprise there. Another creative feature function is the Face Down Mute, silencing the mobile phone when faced down. Useful in situations when you need to silence your phone when there's an incoming call and you're in a meeting, church or something important. There's also the "living wallpaper" function in which the wallpaper adapts to time, battery power and signal strength.

The Nokia 8800 Arte has a lovely 2 Inch 16 Million Colored OLED QVGA Screen in 320 x 240 Pixels resolution, a good sized screen displaying high quality and clear images.

Camera:

Also equipped with 3.2 Megapixels Camera with 8x digital zoom and auto focus, not a very high end camera but not low end either.

Memory:

The mobile phone can save files, images and videos up to 1GB which is good, but the bad thing is that it doesn't have Memory Card support which means it couldn't get any larger.

Battery:

Weird because almost every phone has Memory Card support. Another downside is its battery. The battery has 3 Hours Talk Time and 300 Hours Standby only.

Connectivity and Internet:

The Nokia 8800 Arte has good connectivity, 3G enabled with fast EDGE Technology connection. Also has Micro USB and Data Synchronization for easy file handling and convenient file transfers.

Calling:

The 8800 Arte has Tri Band network only, has WCDMA 2100 network though. Also note that despite the similarity of the acronyms, CDMA and WCDMA are incompatible technologies which is a common misconception.

All in all, the Nokia 8800 Arte has good features and functionality to charm fashion conscious users. Available in best Nokia 8800 Arte 12 month contract deals and cheap free line rental mobile phone deals.
