Nolvadex steroid cycles are often used at the cessation of an anabolic steroid cycle as post cycle therapy (pct) to minimize estrogen rebound and assist in maintaining gains from the cycle. Nolvadex steroid cycles are also used during anabolic steroid cycles to help prevent the growth of breast tissue commonly referred to as gynocomastia.

Nolvadex is the trade name for tamoxifen citrate which is a popular anti-estrogen, or more specifically an estrogen antagonist, meaning that Nolvadex binds to estrogen receptors and reduces the amount of circulating estrogen that can compete for the same receptor.

Nolvadex steroid cycles are very mild compared to using newer, more potent suicidal estrogen inhibitors that prevent estrogen from being manufactured in the first place, versus just the competition at the site as with Nolvadex steroid cycles. Most anabolic steroid users will be able to reduce estrogen levels to acceptable amounts with as little as 10mg per day, though on larger cycles, as much as 40mg per day is not uncommon.

Post cycle therapy use of Nolvadex steroid cycles will generally utilize a plethora of compounds to “jump start” the bodies natural ability to produce testosterone and to minimize the amount of circulating estrogen that is unusually high after cessation of anabolic steroids that have suppressed natural testosterone to levels so low that the cannot compete with feedback mechanisms.

In this manner, Nolvadex steroid cycles will consist of 10mg per day Nolvadex in conjunction with HCG, and sometimes Proviron to assist and enable the body to produce testosterone again and keep estrogen levels low. Estrogen levels are highest after cessation of anabolic steroids because the body shut down endogenous production of testosterone due to the unusually high amounts of exogenous testosterone being injected. The body tries to combat this excess of testosterone by raising estrogen levels in an attempt at homeostasis. Once the high levels of testosterone are removed from the equation, you are still left to deal with the high estrogen in your body and Nolvadex steroid cycles are very effective at combating that.
