There is a very large number of hair restoration products and system available today. A lot of them are advertised on the Internet, on the radio, on television and in newspapers and magazines. There are prescription medications, hair pieces, hair care product lines and hair transplant surgeries. For the consumer, it can sometimes be hard to determine which ones are the most effective for them personally.

Hair loss prevention products claim that they will slow down your hair loss and make your thinning hair thicker. Some even claim that they can conceal your hair loss and regrow your lost hair. It is important to keep a clear mind while having a look at all these products. Before you go out and buy one, you'd probably like to know if the product lives up to all of its claims. Has the product's claimed effects been scientifically proven in the lab? A hair loss prevention product manufacturer is allowed to say everything in his advertisements. If the product doesn't live up to the self created hype, you won't get your money back.

Non Surgical Hair Transplant

Of all the creams, vitamine supplements, shampoos, devices, prescription pills and other stuff, how will you ever figure out which one is the best for you? How will you even know if all the stuff even works at all? Some of them work by preventing hair loss. Others work by stimulating hair growth. Yet others claim to do both. You'd be surprised how few of these products have undergone FDA trials or other types of clinical studies. In other words, their claimed effectivity has never been scientifically proven.

The products that are known to work are the topicals and the shampoos. Well known topicals such as Rogaine contain minoxidil. This active ingredient is approved by the FDA and has been proven to help regrow hair and slow down hair loss in other people. But minoxidil doesn't work for everybody. The effectivity differs from person to person. You will have to try it out for yourself to see if it works for you or not. You need to use it for a minimum of 3 months before you can tell. A lot of people use Retin-A to help the minoxidil be absorbed by the skin to increase the chances of it being effective.

Vitamins are hardly ever as effective at combatting hair loss as their manufacturers claim. There is one pill that has been proven to work and its name is finasteride. Finasteride is FDA approved and is sold under the name of Propecia. It reduces hair thinning measurably and sometimes even regrows lost hair. Another drug that's been proven to work is dutasteride. It's like finasteride, only stronger. It has the potential to reduce hair loss even more than finasteride does, but it doesn't work for everybody. There are people for whom finasteride works, but dutasteride doesn't.

THen there are hair transplants. These procedures used to be very invasive, but they are very effective at partially reversing hair loss. Now, there is the non surgical hair transplant treatment. It's a type of hair transplant where no strip excision is ever made. So you will never be scarred in the back of your head. Instead, your donor follicles are extracted individually. It leaves many tiny wounds. Because the wounds are tiny and spread apart, they will never bother you once they heal up.

Technically speaking, it's still not a 'non surgical' hair transplant. But it sure is a lot less invasive than traditional hair restoration treatments!
